About Customized Compound Solutions A/S (CCS)

CCS history

Customized Compound Solutions A/S (CCS) was established in May 2015 as the first wholly-owned manufacturing affiliate of the Bjørn Thorsen group (BTG). The company was created as a result of a licensing agreement between Bjørn Thorsen A/S (BT) and ExxonMobil, allowing CCS to produce hi-tensile, abrasion resistance TPV and HFFR electrical compounds under CCS’ own Opti-Pren brand name.

During the remainder of 2015, while firming up its base with the commercialization of the abovementioned existing products, CCS expanded its portfolio by developing customized pre-colored Opti-Pren™ TPV grades based on Santoprene® TPV, now belonging to Celanese.

Four product series

Today, the CCS’ portfolio is built around four brands: Opti-Pren™ TPV, Opti-Soft™ TPE, Opti-Flex™ TPO and Opti-Max™ performance powder. To read more about CCS’ range of customized compounds, go to the Products page.

CCS geographical expansion

Aiming to establish itself as a truly global source of innovative solutions, CCS has also expanded its presence in the Asia-Pacific area. Together with its sister company Nordic Grafting Company A/S (NGC) and Chongqing Techxanadu Industrial Co., Ltd. (TechXanadu), they have launched a production and commercialization joint venture in China, Nordic Grafting & Compound Solutions Co., Ltd. (NGCS). NGCS is scoped to produce advanced specialty compounds and compatibilizers targeted at replacing non-recyclable thermoset solutions with recycled thermoplastic solutions. In doing this, NGCS leverages the expertise, capabilities and market access of its co-owners.

Working environment

CCS mission

The mission of CCS is to bridge the gap between commercially available polymers and more demanding market requirements for differentiated enhanced compounds.  CCS actively engages in tailored solution development, by combining technologies from key raw material suppliers and partners of its parent company with its extensive formulation and processing knowhow.   Anchored on BTG’s deep knowledge of engineered thermoplastic elastomers and established broad market access, CCS aims to be recognized as an innovative and reliable source of customized value-added solutions to various industries in the international plastic world.
